“Renascence” - a coming again into being, rebirth This cabinet’s proportions are based on a series of theatre posters illustrated by Alphons Mucha in the late 1800’s. The size of the figure, her placement in the composition, and the writing at the top are the features I chose to work with. Renascence seemed to me to be the perfect theme for this cabinet. Edna St. Vincent Millay’s poem from 1912 of the same name inspired me as well. As she was born and raised in Camden, Maine and the poem’s tale takes place on Mt. Battie, I thought this was an apt tribute to her. From Renascence-
