In the Spring of 2000, James Macdonald was invited to join the Gibson Guitar
Company's Visual Artist Program. Selected artists are given free reign to
create designs on Gibson instruments. Macdonald first received an unfinished
Les Paul model with the instructions- "See what you can do with it."
